maybe you shouldn't be an aggie next time

Pit jumping through a glass window to get you? This dog must be a habitual window breaker. If not, you must have a nasty scent to attract a dog that badly.
What’s next? A pit destroying a steel cage, tearing through walls of concrete?
This couldn’t be the first time this dog has encountered a human on his street.

I'd kill my own dog if it broke my window

This right here.
I own a pit. He’s going on 8 years old. He’s too damn lazy to get off the couch to worry about anybody other than the mail man, and that’s only because I have a door slot for mail.
OP’s neighbor must be giving his dog steroids.

Wow. Having seen several dog attacks, dogs don't let you kick them unless they want to be kicked.
Do you think it was luck? I can't attribute it to anything else. A dog is considerably faster than a person.
I'm glad you managed to fend it off and are alright. Now you need to search the dog poisoning thread for ideas.

This is why you carry a firearm with you at all times. Kill the beast the first time. Won’t have to worry about the second.

I would’ve put a bullet through the bastard

Dog was likely jumping on the window & it broke
We used to have a Rottweiler who’d get excited in the front window. We had a man come to
Fix a treadmil once stand in our front yard. Dog got excited and went clean thru a double paned window. Ran up & licked him but the man was petrified

You reacted better than I would have. I would have shot the bastard dog with my shotgun and would indubitably be sitting in jail posting.

Thanks. He was on a dead sprint down a hill and the road was slippery so he couldn’t really stop to get his footing. I waited till he leapt at me and kicked at him as hard as I could, thankfully connecting at the right moment. When you don’t panic you can think and act quicker than you think.

Well, this very same thing happened to me except: 1) the dog didn’t jump through a glass home window, he got out of his owner’s car across the street when the door opened; 2) I didn’t have time to kick him with my skinny legged jogging shoe which he would have latched onto in midair anyway so I prepared to get bit; and 3) he was actually going after a neighborhood cat which I didn’t see in a yard behind me on my side of the street. Other than those things, it sounds like the same brush with certain death.

They said it hasn’t happened before. But I’m sure there were signs of aggression. I guess they normally keep the curtains closed because I’ve never seen that particular dog before.

Dogs are easy to kick when they attack. You must know some special shape shifting canines.
I came over here for the Live PD thread to see if they were talking about the Pit that was being pet sit and it aggressively barricaded itself in a car. Pet sitters called the cops. No pit was killed but animal control took it away.

Seems a bit weird to carry while I’m exercising, but you’re right, never know what might go down. My 9 mil is too heavy to run with, tho.
Wanted to get my shotgun and take him out, but in hindsight that would have been a terrible idea for several reasons. Lol

Glad you’re safe. Next walk take a 12ga shotgun and obliterate that fricker.

Hope you can get out of the hood man.

I grew up around pits (not mine, but I lived in the country). I dont think most people know the power they possess. And they always act like they are on speed. Super fast dogs. Them and a Rottweiler are the only two dogs I am scared of.
