Got a Physical - Nurse Said My Cholesterol was High - Numbers Say Different

I got a physical last week, and the nurse called and said that my cholesterol levels were elevated. She said I should switch to a low cholesterol diet and then come back in six months for a test.
I just pulled up my actual numbers and they are as follows:
Triglyceride: 53 mg/dL
HDL: 49 mg/dL
Chol/HDL: 4.35
According to the chart provided on their website, it says these are normal numbers for me. 5'8 165 pounds. 30 years old.
So who do I believe? The nurse or the chart?

Is this a physical for life insurance? They set their normal figures much lower for some areas so they can screw you with higher premiums.

Need to know LDL and Total cholesterol.

No. 14 hours. They said don't eat anything that morning, so I didn't eat anything after dinner the night before. Physical was at 9.

It doesn't say. Just has triglycerides, HDL, and Chol/HDL.

Lol. My numbers have always been way up for the para.

Yep. My glucose was around 92 for my physical, which is within the normal range. I still got dinged because the insurance company requires less than 90. It's bullshite.

This. Your numbers don't mean anything.
But also cholesterol doesn't cause heart disease. You need LDL to avoid plaque buildup.

Specifically, your LDL particle number. Your LDL particle number is really the relevant number you want to focus on. <1000 is ideal.

That's odd that HDL and Total chol aren't on that report.
HDL higher than 35 is preferable. Yours is 49. Good, but could be better.
They look at the ratio of LDL to HDL also.
Ask them again for more complete info.
