OP I’ve made the same mistake, 12 years ago, still embarrassed about it. Just do what court tells ya to do, and don’t drink and drive again. I wouldn’t even waste money on a lawyer. I had to get one b/c I’m a fireman and didn’t wanna lose my job. Other than keeping my job, lawyer didn’t really help on all the other stuff. Good luck.

I dunno. I'm not a drunk with zero friends.

Even something as small as 2 beers and driving shortly after can land you a DUI. I'm sure we would all drive fine after that but is it worth the risk?
Smart call on not blowing btw. It may save you from this with the right attorney.

Having the second one was the mistake. The third beer was the result of the second mistake. Driving after that was because you were drunk.
Have a rule. No more than one if you have to drive.
Also, you can leave your car and go back and get it later.

Thought they only hold you until back below legal limit. It took your liver almost 12 hours to process three beers?

I don't think you deserved the dui.
I doubt you were driving in a dangerous manner.
I bet if you did the exact same thing 500,000 times exactly zero people would be injured.
I think you just got caught in a scam called DUI laws and you will now end up having thousands stolen from you by the cottage industry of lawyers, cops, and the system that is designed to steal money, not protect and serve.
That is what I think. The legal limit should be .12 and you should have to show some sign of impairment in your driving.
DUI laws are not in place to protect people, they are there to take people's money. Otherwise the laws would include my suggestions.

What kind of a loser you have to be to get drunk at lunch....

Do cops typically give breathalyzers to people they pull over during the day? I'm guessing you must have been showing signs of impairment. Or you had lunch at a bar and the cop saw you pull out of the parking lot so knew you'd be an easy catch.

Thanks for telling people how easy it can happen.
I have always thought the limits are right around the point where you can't tell by feel whether you are over or not.
Blind drunk - you know
Not drinking - you know
Have a few - ????????
Never had one but got away with it a few times as a teen so I do not judge too harshly

What gave the officer reason to test you or suspicion?
Either he followed you from the restaurant or you were visibly impaired.
A turn signal stop doesn't develop into a sobriety test/charge on its own, right?

Need to elect people who will go back to a 0.15 BAC.
Anything below that is about money, not safety.

Doesn't mean he was driving poorly. All it takes is for the officer to smell alcohol.
Sounds like the OP got the shaft.

You got the DUI because you are retarded and didn’t blow. If you were drunk I would say never blow but anyone with any kind of boozing experience knows 44oz of bud light over 2.5 hours doesn’t leave you anywhere near the legal limit.

Who here has not had 2 “drafts” at a sports bar for lunch? If he had more and is lying, screw him.
Everybody chimes in on these threads like middle aged Prohibitionist women from 1919.

So you don't think the government has turned DUI into a revenue enterprise?
Posted on 12/10/17 at 7:36 am to TrueTiger
I don’t think anything under a 1.5 is a money grab

Drinking 2-3 beers at lunch on a Saturday with a couple of friends? That sounds fantastic.

Yes, a turn signal stop most definitely will turn into a potential DUI even if you only drink 1 beer. Many cops are always looking to write a DUI up. Some of them get paid extra for it in overtime, for some it is just good for them in showing they are doing something (like quotas).
My story:
About 3 years ago I got pulled over for "failing to maintain lane" on a right turn. I was pulling out from a side road making a right turn onto a 3 lane highway. I could have pulled into the immediate right lane, but I pulled into the middle lane as all three lanes were 100% clear. 95% of people probably pull into the middle lane on a right turn when all lanes are empty.
Anyway, it was about 10:30pm. Got pulled over immediately from a cop waiting for people. Passed the field sobriety tests with the exception of the eye test which you automatically fail with any alcohol in your system. Blew of .078. STILL got arrested and had to deal with all the shite, hire an attorney, etc.
It is a money making scam, period.

MADD would absolutely never allow that to happen.
