I agree. Having a few is way different than getting smashed imo but I debated this point enough in this thread and don't feel like doing it again.

What the hell is this about??? I'm pretty knowledgeable about DWI penalties and Ive never heard of a 'mandatory impound'. You're getting fricked.

It’s not about the buzz. You simply can’t drink and drive. There are many options to avoid this in most cities and towns. Not all, though.

3 beers? I could drink that and run a 5k

That's a money grab by the police state. And I'm not making excuses for people that get smashed and drive. Different situation.

Half the MAAD posters in here probably drive home after hammering down 6 Red Bull and vodkas on occasion

Thank god for uber I don't have the need or want to make that mistake again, but I won't pretend like I've never made a decision to get behind the wheel when I shouldn't have. Especially when I was 18-22.

I try not to do it either anymore but damn. Talk about some judgemental mf'ers that have almost all done the same damn thing many times. OP wasn't smashed driving the wrong way down a one way street or anything. That's a different story.

Agreed. The law itself is stupid tbh. .08 for someone is completely different for someone else. Either don't have a limit and just stop people who are driving recklessly or make the limit 0.00.

My insurance went up for $90.00/month (been with the same insurance for almost 30 years - had a great rate because of that) to $400/month

Huh? Why are you going to DUI "school" (wtf even is that?) if you haven't been to court?

My DUI cost me like 2500 tops with the pretrial intervention. I didn't hire a lawyer. My insurance didn't go up either
