Google maps and satellites killed the aerial photo of your house industry

Want to live in the 80’s and know what your property looks like from the air? Pay a guy to fly above in an airplane and take a grainy picture.
Displaying these pictures in the home in a frame was a thing.

How many wives did your father have?

A drone and a 360 deg camera are all the rage these days.

Not here. A large amount of houses have drone shots.

I think drones did that more than satellites.
I've seen what you are talking about in places.
Ive never heard of people putting a satellite image on the wall.

I knew a guy around 1990 or so who started a business based on the notion that realtors could take a camera around a house, maybe even a video camera, and take pictures. Then he'd make a CD the realtors could ship to clients.
Then the internet took off a year or so later and that was that.

Yeah, I think drones do that much more than satellites. I'd also argue that this type of thing was more of a generational deal. Pride in homeownership, pride in the home you built, etc.
My grandparents on both sides had these in their house. I have no desire to have one. And I have a high-quality drone that could take one any time.

Didn't a bunch of people drink some tainted kool aid on that property?

We have one of those. Guy rings the doorbell, shows up a picture of our home, and my wife buys it for $150. Hanging in our den.
