Google Flights Allowing Some Users to Filter Out Basic Economy from Search Results

Wasn't sure if this should go on the travel board or the OT, but I figured that it is broad enough to be appreciated here.
It looks like Google Flights is allowing some users to filter out Basic Economy flights when searching. No more sifting through a bunch of terrible options on Spirit and Frontier to get to a flight that works for you.
I can't see it so curious to see if others here can.

Never flown spirit
The few times I flew frontier i had no issues and the passengers were no trashier than any other airline

Interesting.
They've already essentially allowed this for a long time though by allowing you to filter for OneWorld, etc, but this is a little better

It usually gives me dirt cheap, terrible connecting options in the results. Trying to book flights to Charlotte at the moment and it is giving me overnight routings via Denver of Newark in the search results.

Still includes Basic Economy fares for the big 3 in the results.

Yes which seems like this is a recipe for an antitrust lawsuit.

True
Filtering out flights that connect through ATL cuts back on trash considerably

Am I the only one that likes connecting through Atlanta. Beats Charlotte by a mile.

ATL Airport is more efficient but also trashier
And I enjoy the rocking chairs at CLT for a bit after going to the lounge

People shouldn't be allowed to choose to filter stuff out?

I avoid (most of) the trash in the Sky Club

Kayak allows searches filtering out basic economy.

I've flown
Spirit
Frontier
Southwest
American
Delta
All in the past year.... for a 1.5hr flight Spirit was the cattle car I expected.... for a 3 hour flight, American was on point... for a 4 hour flight, Delta was great

Why are these terrible options for regional flights? They mostly use Airbus 320s. That's better than a bombardier which would more likely have pilots with less experience.

I'm not loyal to any single airline, I book based on price and convenience. Google Flights is a great tool to search multiple options.

It has nothing to do with the aircraft. It's about the crew that work on these planes and the passengers that tend to pick the cheapest flight option.

Funny you bring this up as I'm getting annoyed having to mentally add the money for "Main" for each airline looking at the results.

That's the crux of what the filter allows. I found that while it doesn't show when logged into Chrome, I was able to get the filter in an Incognito browser.
