Google Earth overlayed and scaled to a survey map saves me a TON of time and travel.

I like how you can go back in time

I can kill two hours easily between Google Earth and street view exploring cities I've never been to

Use it for work all the time. I have soils layers, topo maps, and some water features from EPA on there as well.

Google Street view is my favorite app. I’d spend hours just look around at different places and in random neighborhoods.

I like checking out really bad neighborhoods on street view with no risk of being shot.

Try GeoGuessr. You’ll waste just as much, if not more time.

In that case, the corner of Apple and Gen. Ogden in Holly Grove is where you want to look.

What tripped me out was when I discovered you could right click and measure everything. I’ve been looking at acreage for sale in Mississippi for a while, and now whenever I find something for sale the first thing I do is pull up the satellite image amd get measurements on the ponds, the fields, etc. Awesome feature that I stumbled upon by accident.

Playing the airplane simulator on Google Earth was the highlight of my middle school career

I use it before booking an AirBnB to make sure there aren't any nearby ghetto kangz sitting on their porch.

downloading the desktop version is even more impressive. It's crazy what you can see. and you go back in time and see images of an area from the past.

It's great for secret nazi bases in antarctica too.

Looks nice compared to a lot of Detroit.

How do you go back in time?

I really like the history feature. You can look at old satellite maps of areas and see how they've changed.
Posted on 11/26/19 at 9:31 pm to TigrrrDad
the measurements (for small scales) are not close to accurate.

I did some construction over there on Halloween. Three drug houses right by one another. About 40 or 50 locals milling about the corner by 10 am, crack flowing like Detroit city.
