Try flying Delta out of BR

Actually, you won’t be flying - you’ll be booking a flight with another airlines

It’s raining directly where you need to fly thru.

There was lightning at least 5 miles away and they wouldn’t fuel the plane. The question I have is why wait to fuel the plane until the last possible second?

Will rebook when we land since our eta now is right on my connection take off time.

True Story AA doesn't have the emoyees to now keep up with the volume of flights. I have heard this from multiple employees. Any delay and its game over for them.

With the way airlines have been this year with delays, I’m either flying direct or having 2 hr layovers.

Nothing direct to Key West from NOLA.

Weather app just warned me that lightning struck 10 miles away from the airport.

AA is full of shite.

lightning strikes in the area will shut the ramp down, just like little Braxtyn's travel ball games

My connection flight is only a 40 min layover.

Never book this tight without being prepared to rebook.

I had a similar layover in Atlanta, only 30 minutes and barely made it.

Where you flying to/from? Out running errands but may be able to help in-between stops

OP is probably on 1194 to Charlotte, left the gate 54 min late and has been waiting to take off for 25 min.

Eta: Guessing he just took off, getting into CLT an hour late.

My travel groups which are people flying constantly are bitching about American consistently cancelling flights and having big delays.

if you look at the(major league,) airlines, all have had huge numbers of recent cancellations over recent months, along with the typical reasons, many of which are completely out of their control, are that they are trying to crank back up to pre-covid ops as restrictions are easing and ever increasing demands for air travel by the public

As you get closer to your connecting airport, they will come over the PA and announce connecting gates info and assure you that your connecting flight is there because they’ve been stuck at the gate due to weather just like your flight was. If that was true, and it’s usually not, how is your flight going to find an empty gate?

I’m so glad I don’t have to travel for work now. I spent too many Sunday nights running in a crowd of other frequent flyers through the terminals in Atlanta trying to make a connecting flight. But hey, I got a lot of frequent flyer miles so I could experience the same headaches on my own time.

Don’t bother. It’s AA. Your next flight will be delayed and you will be fine
