If you don't have kids, check out a condo on harbour island across the water from the hockey arena. It's a quick walk to Channelside or downtown and the harbour island athletic club is sweet. I loved it down there.

Thanks guys, my office would be on the east side of Tampa on Causway not quite to Brandon area. Would the South Tampa be advisable or should I look for something closer to the east or maybe farther south?

Go east of Tampa....Riverview/Brandon area. The commute is much easier than north or west of Tampa.

OT Baller friend of mine lives up Veterans off Linebaugh. Nice area to raise a family.

This is the area I live. The area is called Westchase. Easy commute in every direction.

Plant.

Nice homes. Great school district.

I worked in Tampa for two months about five years ago.

Not to beat a dead horse but Tampa traffic is horrible. If you are working close to Brandon at the end of causeway you can get a 2000ish sq ft home in a good neighborhood for $250k. This would be 5-10 minutes from your work.

If you go closer to Brandon you can get an 1800 Sq ft for less than $200K. This would be 15-20 minutes from work. Brandon has many restaurants, malls and a big outlet mall.

There are also a lot of foreclosure/fixer uppers available if you are inclined to go that route. Many of them need more sweat equity than money.

I don't know about the schools there.

Look South of Kennedy, north of Gandy, east of Dale Mabry.

Biggest thing is south of Kennedy.

ETA: Depending on the area a 2/2 townhouse with a yard in south Tampa will run you $1500-$2200/month. There's some cheaper options for apartments and whatnot. Craigslist is the best option if you're gonna rent

I would look at Brandon, Riverview, or even Channelside (if you take the expressway you will go against traffic). Depends on what you want. Linebaugh near Veterans would be a bit of a drive for you.

Eta there are a shitload of new construction apartments right by the area you job is going to be. Could do a short lease and see what you like.
