I carry a 15* 3 Wood and an 18* hybrid. I consider the 3 Wood my baby driver and only hit it off the grass with a perfect lie in the fairway. Everyone's different.

3w if choosing, both if possible depending on how many wedges you like to carry.

Hello, I'm looking for a club to help me on par 5's (2nd shot) I currently have a taylormade driver and 4-pw iron sets. Do I need a 3 wood or a hybrid 3?

I hit the TM afterburner 3W 240 and the 3 hybrid ~210-220. I just couldn't see the need to drop the money on both as I would probably use the 3W MAYBE twice in a round. Unless you are a low handicap, I doubt having both helps your game more than a stroke or two.

The 4 hybrid in the Rocketballz line is really easy to hit. That would give you something in that gap distance. If you are a bogey or worse golfer you need to hit it straighter not longer. Double(or worse) bogeys are going to happen way more often than you will get home in 2. Focus on decreasing their frequency.

It's an odd question since there's a pretty big gap between 3W and 3H. It should be either 5W or 3H. For me, I use a 5W after my 4 Iron.

If you have 4-PW, consider forgoing the 3 iron and use Driver, 3W, 5W, 4-PW, and three wedges.

Think of it this way...how many times during a round would you hit your 3I or 3W, compared to a wedge? Give yourself some versatility around the green.

Considering you shouldn't be hitting a wedge with a full swing anyway, you'll have better control from 125 in. Use a 60* around the green for high shots or bunker shots, a 56* for pitches, and 52* for bump and runs, and then any of those for half to three quarter shots from 100 in.

Little hard to hit baw. If you're new just take out your seven and hit a straight shot.

This is the OT. 2nd shot on a par 5 should be a mid iron.

Sippy
he's new to golf.

OP I would say go to your club pro but you are not a member.
Even the public course near you will have someone selling clubs who is knowledgeable. Let him see you hit a basket of balls.

I was raised by golfers. You need time.
Relax and get lessons every year, at least one or two.
You practice for THOUSANDS of hours and it will become easy.
You just go out on a weekend and it will be hell until the day you die.

if you're new to golf, you don't need a 4iron anyway. Leave it in your garage. There are so many used hybrids cheap to buy online on any discount golf site or ebay. Adams are tough to beat.

I am an 8 hcp and I carry:

D
3w
3h
4h
5-PW

I carry a 15 degree aeroburner 3 wood that is an absolute cannon and a 19 degree hybrid. That keeps my yardage gaps and gives me plenty options on long par 5's.
