What you got? I'm in the market for irons and a putter.

ETA: nevermind, saw your post. And $1500 on an Adams set is not smart...probably one of the most frequently "on sale" brands. They are fine clubs, just always discounted somewhere.

Yes I am a fricking idiot for buying these clubs. You telling me the reason I can't sell them is because I'm an idiot?

Sounds reasonable.

I would say they are a close second only to bass subwoofers. Right out of high school, i spent all $3k of my graduation money on 2 Solo Baric 15's, ported box, mids, hi's, amps, etc. Sold it all about 14 months later for like 500.00 and was happy to get that!

Oh the days of high school sound systems. I somehow lucked out with only buying a CD player for my car.

I can't think of anything else I've ever spent $1500 on that is completely unsellable.
You've spent at least that much on food over the past several months and your shite is unsellable.

So that's one thing you can now think of.

Why do people here continue to refer to things like golf clubs, cars, and boats as "investments"

To the OP, I bought a $4k zodiac a long time ago and sold it for a year later at $1500. Terrible terribe decision on my part.

I've played golf for 25 years and had a single digit handicap my entire adult life and I've never spent more than $500 on a set of irons, and $225 on any driver or 3 wood.

Give them to First Tee and write $1200 off on your 2016 tax return.

It's because of how often new clubs come out. A new line comes out at least every year. The other reason is because of how much golf clubs show wear and tear.

This is assuming you're asking a serious question and not just complaining.

I've thrown $1500 away on a lot worse things than unused golf clubs.

Should have bought used or at least old stock.

Brand new clubs in this year's model are a poor investment, though, along with most everything else that gets redesigned every year.

1500?
What a dumbass you are.

I play golf at least twice a week year around and might have that much all together in my set.

According to this thread there are lots of people out there buying used clubs. Just not mine. Got it.

Quality forged clubs hold their value really well. Unfortunately, novice golfers can't hit them.

Hold onto them. Every man needs a set of clubs for social reasons even if you suck and hate the game.

eta: the older you get, the more male friends you will have who love the game. also, a one hour lesson will improve your swing dramatically.

$450

bullshite. You paid $1500 for a set of clubs and after a few years, you cant sell them for $450? Either you bought the most expensive set of absolute shite clubs ever, or you fricked them up so bad they aren't worth anything.
