That’s cute. The government doesn’t protect a fricking thing except for itself. The government for all intents and purposes is the enemy of liberty loving individuals like myself. The government continuing to function in its current state is a direct affront to the founding fathers’ principles as well as myself and like minded individuals.
Oh ffs....I should've known you're another one of those boot strap motherfrickers who talks like a badass until shite hits home and then whines and cries about government, minorities, or the "goddamn Jews".

Yeah, those people have a vested interest in staying open so them and their employees can feed their family and pay bills. Kinda hard to do that when you’re out of fricking work because the government decided that your job wasn’t essential. Even though as far as you’re concerned, it’s very essential to yourself.

I'm saying that if our government doesn't pull its head out of its arse to ramp us testing
What do you want the government to do in that regard? They’ve ordered more tests, what else can they do?

I don’t even know what this means.
Furthermore, if you rely on the government to protect you, then you’re in a world of shite. Government ain’t protecting shite.

whines and cries about government
Right now, in this country, government is about 75% of the problem.

We are well past containment at this stage unfortunately.
Hopefully this won’t be a global slow down

It's absolutely going to be this already baw. If it drags on for months we'll have 25% unemployment.

The glimmer of hope is that China seems to be going back to some normalcy. Unlike 2007/08 we don’t have predatory lending, horrific balance sheets and the consumer is strong. In the US at least

It's not systemic yet but the small business closures could be an economic disaster. We'll bail out the hotels, cruiselines and airlines.

There are public consequences to authoritarian control as well.
There are tradeoffs. The government will find this out fairly quickly.

I think the trump admin will be more resistant to a buy out of the airlines..
Medically, we will Know a lot more in th next 7-10 days if our measures are working, and worth the economic sacrifice

We'll have to prop them up. We aren’t talking about a fast food chain. Airlines are essential to the economy.

The ripple effect will be dramatic. Every facet of the economy will be impacted.

Dow futures down another 2-3% this morning.
Another problem for people is that, if they need to tap into their savings/ 401k during these times, they'll be doing it at 60% of its value at the beginning of the year. Tough pill to swallow

And I'm sure business will just fricking BOOM while, literally, a couple million Americans die because our government chose the economy over life. This is a recipe for this country to fail...social disorder...ugly.
So with an economic price tag equal to possibly the entire fricking healthcare industry, you don’t think we could have managed the outbreak by shoring up the healthcare industry for a similar or lesser cost?
