I go all over the place in NOLA. Usually stay in the Marigny when we go. AllWays Lounge is one of our favorite spots.

The OP is a tourist from Texas. Tourists have a strange tendency to end up at Armstrong Park and Claiborne Street late at night.

I stayed on Loyola for 4 nights and made it back

Truck didn't even get fricked with.

Now you still need to dodge the day walkers and the car killing potholes that lovely city has to offer

Someone asked me this recently when I was down there taking the kids to the aquarium. What’s it mean? Did I narrowly escape a robbing?

Was there all weekend. Had a blast. Never felt unsafe.

I’ll be checking out the Lobby of the Roosevelt Hotel and having a Sazerac in the Sazerac there this evening at some point. We’ve got a couple commitments to fulfill, her work peers.

Pray for us.

One dude on here had his pickup stolen after the hotel valet parked it. I suggest putting several airtags in your vehicle and on your wife.

There are a lot of AirBnBs in Central City. They stay booked because of the proximity to the Quarter/Downtown. I once saw a group of frat boys coming out of the Church’s Chicken on Claiborne/MLK around midnight. Its honestly negligent how many short term rentals there are in the hood.

The wife and I have decided we like the Garden District. We always spend a little time in the FQ but it seems we spend that time on Decatur St. rather than Bourbon St.

It's a hustle from the gutter punks trying to get $10 from you for making a bet.

Answer: ” you got your shoes on your feet and the street you got them on is (current street).”

Hardly. I live in TX but am from BR and wife is from NO. We are just walking around with the kids, eating some food, a couple of drinks, and checking out some shops. Very nice day today.

Wash it down with a Monsoon. But don't have more than one unless you wish to develop amnesia.

Even the touristy areas are prone to unexpected mass violence and crime. Did you forget what happened on Jan 1, 2025.

NOLA is cursed and I don't see that changing anytime soon. All the desirables are leaving and the undesirables keep coming in, repopulating, and staying.

People keep saying NOLA was worse in the 90s but no it was not. In the 90s, the crime was concentrated in the projects. But today those projects don't really exist so it's way more wide spread.
