The wife and I are taking a last minute trip to Nashville. Does anyone have any recommendations for things to do or places to go? Thanks in advance!

If you go out on Broadway, Acme Feed and Seed is pretty cool. It has a second floor patio bar that overlooks the river. The Stage was fun too. Kinda packed, but the band was great and a cool atmosphere.
Ate at some pizza place near Vanderbilt (can't remember the name??) where you can see the guys tossing the dough and shite. It was really good. Also had a few good brunch spots right there walking distance from campus.
Took a cab to the Opry across the river one night. I was apprehensive but it was really fun. Think you'd enjoy it even if you're now a huge country fan.

Go look at the Musica statue on Demonbraun Street.
It portrays naked men and women dancing, shocking the citizens of Nashville when it was unveiled.

Grab breakfast at either Pancake Pantry or The Loveless Café (but get to either early; wait at the Loveless can be 2-3 hours.
Jack's BBQ on Broadway is really good.
If there is a show at the Ryman go see it, just to hear the acoustics of the place. If not, take the tour, it is a very cool place and has been brought back to life after falling into disrepair.
If you even somewhat like country music, go to the Opry. Never know who will be playing, but you typically get a mix of older stars (John Conlee, Larry Gatlin) with newer (90s through today) acts. The longest running radio show in the country; I want to say the show we went to in March was the 5,600+ consecutive show.
The Country Music Hall of Fame is nice, but we honestly liked the Johnny Cash Museum better. The George Jones museum wasn't open when we were there, but I want to go back and see it.

Sounds like an old person's trip. OP, don't do Pancake Pantry or Loveless.
Do Hattie B's, Martin's/Edley's for BBQ, Acme/Pinewood Social/Patterson House for drinks, Husk/Southern/Rolf and Daughters/City House for dinner.
If you're flush with cash, take her to buy boots at Peter Nappi and watch it all disappear. She'll be happy.
Thank me later.

Wait what? Midtown is the most crowded part of town outside of 2nd and Broadway.

City House is by far the best in Nashville. Husk tries too hard and fails.

Menage's would be a great place to take your wife.
Also I'm sure there are some UT - Bowling green tickets still available. You can go see the Vols play at LP field.

I sincerely disagree with your opinion of Husk and what Sean Brock is doing.
My opinion, your opinion.
