OT 8/10, but let’s not go overboard now. A female, Canadian pilot? Double trouble. These missions may be 53 years old, but they still don’t have enough tech to let her safely drive the craft. Too many souls on board for that kind of PR.

Can you imagine being cramped in a 300 cubic foot space with 4 people and one of them is PMS’ing?

Yes, it’s clear that the flight surgeons aren’t doing their jobs these days. Must feel the political correctness heat.

A young, 20-30 year old woman almost crashed into me a week ago near a local Publix in a Honda. You don’t see women in F1 cars because they can’t handle the lateral Gs despite the power to weight ratio advantage early on before they account for that.

You also don’t see them placed in air to air fighters because the multidirectional Gs. In regular bombers, or air to ground fighters if not chased by SAMs, they do okay.

But tied to an exploding rocket? They probably do okay after being launched into space. Must be harsh, but respect.

You may want to rethink that and familiarize yourself with Lt Amanda Lee.
She handles G's pretty well without a G suit. And, last time I checked, the F18 was considered a fighter aircraft.

A little less than 10% of the fighter pilot force are women.

So you do see them.

I’d argue the reason for the low percentage is cultural rather than some biological reason about not handling G forces. You gotta be a hyper confident and assertive to survive and most women aren’t.

But seriously…..wut?

You would have been more on point with this thread if you posted that clip from Plinket’s review of Star Trek Generations where you had Marina Sirtis gushing it was the first time her character ever got to pilot the ship……only to crash it into a planet almost immediately.

We've given the keys to the blind dude, the kid, a teenager had the keys, we threw the keys at anyone in red who happened to be passing that day. And then finally, y'know (footage of the ship crashing into the planet).

I was reading earlier that most of them take hormone inhibitors so they don't have to deal with it.

We're getting our first live event! They look reasonably comfy up there. Again, holding this little box while watching humans tens of thousands of miles away from earth is mind blowing when you think about it.

Every camera angle Nasa release. I've clipped it to the best view of the liftoff I've seen yet...
