I’m sure Prozac cost about 5 cents to produce but a 30 day supply without insurance probably runs $200.

To provide a little more serous context… I have a corporate job but I also run a franchise operation. My business happens to be next door to a GNC in a strip mall. Commercial leases in my area relatively high. They usually have one person working so labor costs are low. I don’t know their average ticket but I would guess they need to sell 150-200 products per month to be profitable. The rest is gravy.

Conversely, I have about $15k/month in labor costs alone so I have to sell a lot of shite to make money.

I buy GNC online, they give discounts if you purchase this way.

Nah a lot of mattress stores are owner operated, it’s a huge mark up and low labor cost. I know of multiple that the only person working is the owner.

I know. The OT has a six page thread on doughnuts, but “hey, if your diet is right, you don’t need to supplement, guys”.

GNC profit margin is probably sky high. Also, it’s more likely the employees are selling steroids than cartels.

They’re transitioning everyone to mail order too. More stores closing soon.
