Morning everyone.

Just waiting for employee health to open up. Started feeling sick yesterday so now I have to arrange to get tested today.

On to coffee #1.

I have to check my temperature before work every morning and check the kiddo's temperature before daycare.

No fevers in this household.

I don't have a fever. Started yesterday with a bad headache and then body aches, chills, and fatigue.

Already talked to my boss last night. I meet symptom criteria for testing.

ETA: It hit me quickly. Felt totally fine until the headache started yesterday afternoon.

Oh no! Do you work with Covid patients?

I don't do direct patient care anymore so I haven't had direct contact with any covid patients.

But I work infection control now and do frequent rounding of the covid units. Also was working the last couple weeks at one of our hospitals to help educate staff and help them set up their covid unit. So maybe got exposed there? Or just exposed in public since this is everywhere now. Even though things are more opened up here...I basically stick to work and the grocery store or Walgreens.

Hopefully my test is negative and this is just something else.

Part of me would hope that it's positive... yeah completely quarantining would suck, but get it over with.

I have responsibilities regarding my dad and his medical care. Considering their situation...I am the ONLY family here that can assist him with his medical stuff.

Was supposed to take him to one of his medical appointments this weekend (his most important one...his psychiatrist). He only gets his psych meds 2 months at a time. Thankfully his psychiatrist knows me well and I can call and explain the situation. No way my dad can do telehealth without me there with him to help him navigate the tech involved. So hopefully he can just call in at least another month of meds until I can reschedule.

Thankfully we have the rapid test at work so I can know today what I'm dealing with.

Yeah, that would be tough with family.

I could probably still work from home doing what I can if I did have to, but it would be tough because if I was positive, then little man couldn't go to daycare. That would put a lot on HC... we'd probably just all consider ourselves exposed and self-quarantine for 14 days.
