Sorry to hear. Wish to see cancer cured in my lifetime but don't expect it.
Lost my mother this summer, but still woke up Christmas morning expecting to see her for our usual dinner. So different after all the years.

Mine passed in February. Being at my Dad's and not seeing/hearing Mom run around in her Christmas apron was odd. I always thought she was a little too loud. Without her, it was overwhelmingly quiet.
