This is awesome until you find out she has kids herself.
I have a somewhat personal knowledge of a teacher that was caught sexting with a student. She was fired of course, had to register as an offender, not sure if she did time. Two kids in the same small town school. A few years of being ostracized from everyone in her friend group she takes her life. So her kids get to go through their mom being caught to burying her all before they graduate.
If she were single she could just salvage of life of being childless and raise dogs. No telling how things will turn out now.

I think it happened a lot back then also. Based on stories I've heard years later, plenty of young male gym teachers were banging students and everyone kept their mouth shut about it.

Before everyone had a phone in their hand, everyone had that teacher you thought banged an athlete at the school. But that’s all that happened and it’s pretty impossible to arrest and convict someone on rumors. With Snapchat and text messaging and a camera in every hand it’s much much easier to have actual proof and evidence of the relationship or event. Couple that with sensationalist headlines where every “news” outlet is out only to generate ad revenue and no interest in actual news and the pathetically short attention spans of our society and you get what we have here.
