don't put yourself in situations where people are drinking - no parties, bars ,etc
get rid of all the alcohol in the house
when you want a drink do something physically demanding. burpees, push ups, etc.
I give it up every year for lent and this approach works well. If you can make it into week 3, you're solid.

HOW much didn't you drink to begin with?
Considering doing same for same reasons you said
I drink beer only, couple times a week

How much were you drinking a day?

Having Saturday and Sunday mornings free to do work and get chores done was such a refreshing change from the misery of hungover undergrad weekend mornings.

Stay away from bars. Occupy yourself; find a hobby. Keeping yourself engaged helps avoid the temptation to drink.

I wasn't drinking every day. Normally just on the weekends and I wouldn't consider myself a heavy drinker. I was probably drinking about a fifth of hard liquor a week. Maybe a 6 pack of draft beer sprinkled in over the course of the week on a heavy week. I have a pretty good gym routine, so i've always been able to stay in pretty good shape regardless, but cutting out the alcohol has had immediate results.

Change your playground, playmates and playthings.

If you ever need a drink - pick up some of these. Make sure they are the pink cap.

just make one rule. for every dick you suck, you are rewarded with one drink that doesn't count towards the no drink month.

So no drinking for St. Patrick's Day?
May peace be with you.
May peace be with you.

It is sad and pathetic and reflects on your character---of course given your TD name we can't expect a lot of character

You will love Saturdays. Getting up and actually knocking some to do list shite out and not wasting the day hungover is a great feeling
Yeah, you'll love Saturdays--til Saturday evening hits.
But seriously, I've done the Lent thing before. No big deal unless you have issues. My sister tried N/A beer til she realized it tasted like crap.

Nah, it's those warming Saturday and Sunday afternoons when everyone is out at the park, beach, patio, etc. enjoying a drink when it really sucks.
