Good luck finding an automatic WRX. It’s one of the few cars with an automatic option where the overwhelming majority of people still pick a manual, and for that reason, I can’t see an automatic holding its value too well.

The engine performance is meh and the option packages suck.
I'm still looking at a CrossTrek for my next car. One of the roomier crossovers (drivers seat) and the best off-road performance.

I think many women who like women drive Subaru's so if that is your thing, get one.

Subaru had a great quality rep. Then they decided to drastically increase their production and got into A LOT of quality problems. It is still going on.
The industry news has been covering this for a couple of years. They had engine troubles and none of their techs had ever gone into an engine and they had nightmares in their shops.
Check Automotive News, JD Power or just google Subaru quality problems. Great cars but the recent problems are real.

Believe it or not, I had trouble finding a manual a year ago when I was looking for an STI. The dealer had to bring one in from Alabama.

STIs are manual only, always have been for the 15 years they’ve been available in the US market. They were probably just having a hard time finding one, period. Subaru makes like 50 WRXs to every one STI.

I daily a Ram and own 2 Subarus .. 00 RS (road-course/auto-x) and 02 WRX (show car) .. I bounced around a lot of different car manufacturers and these are the only ones I couldn't get rid of because I love them. Plan on purchasing a new Legacy turbo for my wife. They are really fun cars to drive and as some said earlier they are underpowered for sure but fun to drive. I personally think the Impreza line has gone downhill since the 05's but the interiors have gotten a lot better.

I’m starting to see a hell lot more Subaru’s on the road now vs. 5 years ago down here.
Went visit family up around New York a few years ago, and it seems like everyone up there drives Subaru’s.

I'm a woman. I'm not a lesbian. I love Subaru and am on my 5th one. (currently an Outback and love it) They are great cars! They may have a reputation as being for lesbians and liberals in the past but that seems to have changed at least where I live. I see tons of them on the road.

Get a Toyota instead. Highlander is an excellent vehicle. I was going to get one but went with the sequioa instead

Unless I want a manual (I don’t cuz traffic) I’m going wrx. Also the price diff between Sti and wrx is pretty steep

Trucks are more useful than any vehicle on the road by far. Don’t understand if you’re getting a vehicle for outdoors activities why you would not go with a truck.
