I had a boss that vehemently refused to ever eat at Ralph and Kacoo's. He said that when he was a server there in college he saw another server piss in the soup.

Since he told me that story I don't eat there.

I remember one occasion where the owner was in a bad mood. He told them they would pay for it or he was calling the cops. It was hilarious.

My son is working on his Master's in psychology (with the intention of getting his doctorate). He works 30 hours a week with autistic kids. Though he's usually pretty level headed, he's a bit more liberal than I like.

So, when he got a part-time job at Dominos delivering pizza to supplement his income, he was suddenly slapped in the face with the reality of stereotypes becoming stereotypes for a reason with the with the tendency of black folk to not tip. Fortunately, he doesn't take it too much to heart, but he did admit that it reinforced his growing suspicions that he didn't really know shite. ??

It did make me wonder something though... I usually always tipped the guy around $5 no matter the size of the order. Yet, I've always been a solid 20% tipper inside a restaurant. They bring my food and drink to me from the kitchen. Meanwhile, the pizza guy gets in his vehicle and brings it all the way to my house. Why has it never occurred to me to give them the 20% tip on some of the bigger orders?

Then again, most pizza places tack a delivery charge on right off the bat that their drivers get next to no part of.

I worked as a host at a couple of different restaurants and every black server I ever worked with would tell you without hesitation that black tables and parties are the worst you can get.

He gets a split rate. Minimum wage in store, $4/hr on the road and 22 cents a mile.

I wouldn't feel obligated to do that, just tip what you should not over. I mean if you want to I'm sure the server appreciates it, but I wouldn't feel obligated to.

Ask black people that work at restaurants that have predominantly black customers. They won't lie to you. I lived in Memphis for years and had black friends that were servers. They all had at least two jobs.
