I had a friend get married that had to pick between an LSU game and opening day of duck season. His wife knew that people would ABSOLUTELY show up to the wedding in bloody camo covered in feathers if they went up against duck season, so the LSU gameday was picked.

They did it right, though. It was an away game and the bride made sure there was a giant projection screen set up at the reception and planned the timing of the wedding with the priest so we'd get to the reception hall just ahead of kickoff. Your traditional dances, pictures, wedding bullshite that you're expected to do, etc. was finished by halftime and then we all proceeded to get good and boozed up watching the second half.

They did it right.

Girl I know got married years back on same day as LSU Auburn, but told everyone including her dad there would be TV's. Well there weren't and she knew that...she just figured everyone would be ok once they were enjoying her day. Auburn goes up and Jarrett Lee leads a comeback. The dad and half the men there left to go down the street to watch the 4th quarter...it was in New Orleans.

I agree. I went back to Louisiana for a few weeks this month and it's honestly too hot or rainy to do a whole lot so I understand it.

Since moving here I care a whole lot less about catching the games because my weekends are usually filled with other activities.

Just got back from my usual weekend morning swim and brunch. Back in Louisiana that would never happen and not necessarily by choice. Those opportunities just aren't as plentiful and if they are then weather plays a lot into if you can actually do them.

Sounds like a waste of a wedding and money tbh.

Let me drop 50 to 100k so y'all can watch football.

Why can’t you swim and brunch in Louisiana?

I do that most weekends during the summer just in a different order

I like how she says doing literally anything else in the world is doing "whatever they wanted" but watching football isn't doing whatever you want, it's letting the game dictate your social calendar.

Just saying....it is a completely different mindset regarding college football out of the South (and certain areas of the Midwest). The only people that see watching college football as a big social thing are those that are from those areas I mentioned. The rest just don’t care as much.

It's amazing how many of you think people cheat at weddings.

How bad have your relationships been you assume someone cheats?

You guys must be terrible in bed if your girlfriend's cheating like this constantly. Learn to eat pussy better guysm

Because I think it's weird people think women cheat at weddings? Or because someone I don't know is ruining my weekend. I work six days a week. Saturday is my time for fourteen weeks. Rest of the year I'm down for whatever.

Not apologizing for that. It's a sports site. Don't act like you guys don't care. Literally on a sports board for people obsessed with sports

This. I watch football with a group of friends or tailgate the game and go to it. Every week unless I have a job to finish.

This has been for years. Going to some wedding of her annoying friend marrying a hipster fricktard I care two shits about is not how I want my day of rest

But I also know my GF will give me shite for it later. Have it in the arsenal for a big fight. So balancing is it worth that later down the road

You legit need to run with the quickness if she'd actually do that. I mean, how is that not obvious?

They could have gotten married anytime, I don't trust any marriage that occurs on a football Saturday anyways. Plus, with all of the streaming tech today, they can put that up online. I'd say send them a gift but it's your girlfriend's friend so screw them.

Jesus.

It is just a football game.
