The only reason to get married IMHO is if you are young and want the societal/religious legitimacy of a marriage. Living within walking distance of your GF is ideal. You spend beautiful days together and then sleep in your own bed. I feel like I’m living the dream to be honest- at least my dream. Seven years after I took off my wedding ring for good, my ring finger still looks a little lonely though. Might want the ring someday.

I was in a 30 year relationship- 26 years married- 3 kids. A worthy endeavor. That said, been there done that. I understand far too much about the human condition and human psychology to ever do that again. Not cracking on anybody does though. It’s the legitimate precursor to the basic building block of civilization - family.
