I stand corrected then on her motives then.

Still, tough to pin down his suicide completely on her

Again, there is no doubt she is very sick and deserves to be in a mental institution.

Is this one of those new non-violent crimes that everyone wants classified as a misdemeanor with no jail time?

I’m sorry but this is not a crime regardless of what you think of her.

Maybe not, but I don't give a shite about this sick whore's misery. It's good karma for her for being evil.

First amendment allows you to say what you want, HOWEVER it does not absolve you from the consequences of your action.

By your logic it would be perfectly OK To walk into an airport and start screaming about a bomb.

I find the people who throw out "1st amendment" as an excuse/defense or usually the ones who understand it the least.

The think about suicidal depression is it can be very hard to notice. A person can seem extremely happy and the next time they're alone they're depressed as hell. I mean did anyone really expect Robin Williams or Chester Bennington to kill themselves?

That's not how it works. She influenced her suicidal boyfriend to kill himself. Even when he was backing out she told him to do keep going and eventually he did. The poor guy needed help instead she help load the gun for him.

We need to codify this rule into guy code.

Do not commit to any long term relationship (personal or professional) with crazy bitches like Michelle Carter. Hit it and quit it. Nothing more.

She may or may not deserve jail time, but she definitely a sick loser with weird eyebrows.

the judge basically said as much in finding her guilty

the fact that Conrad was physically abused by his dad, went through the separation/divorce of his parents, and already had prior suicide attempts somewhat mitigated her responsibility but her encouragement after he got out basically sealed the deal.

I went from 90/10 her/him but after watching the documentary I'm more 65/35 her fault.

She is pretty mentally ill herself, it's not as simple as "girl just wanted attention"

After watching the documentary on HBO. I think his parents should shoulder some of the blame for him taking his own life. I definitely think Michelle Carter has her own problems. But I do not think this is completely hurt fault.

How can you possibly put these sentences in the same post back to back?

Per the HBO doc this felt like a real legal gray area. The judge even ruled that she wasn't responsible until she convinced him to get back in the truck. But in reading the texts and emails they sent each other it seemed pretty clear that he wanted this. He talked about it often and I honestly think she was convinced that she was helping him do what he wanted. Morally a normal person would be able to tell right from wrong but I think they were both mentally ill. The idea of saying talk to a therapist never seemed to occur to her. I do think she enjoyed the attention after but I don't think she planned it in advance.

I don't believe it is, which is why I think it made the case more unique to adjudicate and also why the defense waived the right to trial by jury.
