“Ghosts definitely exist,I’ve had multiple experiences”

I never believed in ghosts until I went to work in a hospital.Probably a dozen experiences for which there was no other explanation.

I have seen a ghost. (See the ghost story thread that gets bumped time to time)

I believe Aliens are real and its tough to think we are alone in the world.

Bigfoot could exist but the amount of claims + lack of any real proof puts me in a "I'll believe it when I see it" category. I won't straight up deny the possibility as it seems more realistic than ghost/ aliens for some.

What if Bigfoot was an ancient alien spirit?

If you define Aliens as any extraterrestrial life, again, pretty much 100% chance that there is something alive off planet.

Bro you simply don’t have enough information to say that lol.

You have the denominator. Rough estimate of the number of potential inhabitable worlds.

The numerator in the equation is “probability of life forming on a planet”.

You don’t have that so you can’t really make those predictions.

Personally I believe that the origin of life is basically zero.

and you are basing this off of what? Every astrophysicist I have ever listened to on this subject says the exact opposite.

The aliens issue needs to be split into two subsets: A) life on other planets; and, B) life on other planets that has visited Earth. A is a virtual certainty. B is a virtual impossibility.

As to ghosts . . . the problem with the belief in the supernatural, similar to the belief in the existence of cryptids, is that no one who claims to have seen supernatural beings such as ghosts is going to be convinced that it was something else. They weren't fooled, their eyes didn't play tricks on them, their half-awake brain wasn't only half awake, etc. Despite their insistence that what they believe is true, they will thry to put the burden on you to disprove their belief because they have irrefutable proof - they saw it and/or felt it.

A good analog are the modern sightings of Ivory-billed Woodpeckers. Despite the proliferation of cameras since that species' presumed extinction back in the 1940s or so, there has been no increase in non-blurry photos of them. Remember, this is a species that, when only two were known to be alive, they were promptly filmed by a guy who had to pack a 1940s movie camera up a tree to do it. Now that we have remotely operated cameras available at the dollar store, no one can get a picture of them because they are "notoriously shy and elusive." But to the people who claim to have seen them, their continued existence cannot be disproved.

I 100% believe in both ghosts and aliens

I don't think ghosts are necessarily the humans at like 50% opacity and I don't think aliens are little green men running around, but I believe there's something out there.

“care to elaborate,baw?”

We had a room in the far corner from the Nsg.station.There were several incidents(always a quiet night,at least they were considerate) where the central monitor would start alarming and vent.fibrillation would be scrolling across the screen and.a paper strip would print out.But there was no pt. in the room and the bedside monitor was turned off.The other nurses would say it was the ghost,I said it was some glitch in the electronics,I didn’t believe in ghosts.I couldn’t explain why it was V Fib.( arrhythmia that pt. is shocked for).
Hospital bought a new monitoring system of a different brand and damned if it didn’t still happen,I started believing then.
I saved one of the strips and showed it to a cardiologist and asked him what he thought it was.He said it was V fib,of course and wanted to know what pt.I explained to him what room it came out of,no pt.in the room so it had to be a ghost. He looked at me like I was nuts.

Then we started having incidents in that room,3 different pts. put their call lights on and they would all say a tall woman with a long dress with her arms crossed, standing in the corner staring at them. They would speak to her but she didn’t answer so they put the call light on and she would disappear.
First 2 pts.we,were able to convince them they were dreaming, drugs they were on caused strange dreams, etc.
3rd pt,was near hysterics, didn’t buy our explanation,He wanted his clothes said he was getting the hell out of there,he was going home.We convinced him to stay, would move him to another room.Problem was we didn’t have an empty room.We swapped rooms with a comatose,pt on a vent.,gave him some Valium and he went to sleep.
Next morning family of the comatose pt.came in and were irate that we had moved him in the middle of the night and couldn’t give them a good explanation why.
It wasn’t my pt.so I hauled arse,went home.
Shortly after that,I left for another job, don’tknow if it happened anymore.

Another crazy thing happened to me.Hospital called me and asked me if I would come in 11-7 in E,R,nurse was sick.E.R.was very small in those days, only 3 rooms.
I went in and had not 1 pt.all night which was unusual.E.R.Dr.went to his room and tech went somewhere to sleep,so I was by myself. There was an elevator nearby that went to nursery and there was a gumball machine by the elevator. Also rear entrance to the hospital was right there where Drs.and employees would come in.
Early morning hours I heard the handle on the gumball machine turn and a gum ball drop.Over and over I kept hearing it.I went out to see who the hell was getting all the gumballs that early in the morning,no one was there and no gumballs.I went back in the office and heard it again and ran out no one was there.
I rolled the office chair in the doorway so I could see the gumball machine.Nothing happened so 15-20 minutes I rolled back in the office, soon as I did hande turned and gumball dropped.Ran out, nobody there.
Then I got in runner’s stance in the office, soon as it happened again I ran out as fast as I could, nobody there.
I was getting tired of this so I brought the gumball machine in the office and went back to reading.
After a while the night supervisor came around and saw the gumball machine in the office. She asked,me if Dr.________ was driving me crazy with the gumball machine.Well that Dr, was dead,he had killed his wife and committed suicide. I asked her if that had happened before and she said yes,on quiet nights. She was convinced it was him,she said it was his habit when he came in the hospital to stop and get a gumball. She said he was real friendly, like to tell jokes and tease staff.
I didn’t know him,he died shortly after I started working.

Few more incidents, some I experienced and some I heard about.
Tired of typing.

Had, few incidents here at my house.Where I live I has been in family since 1920.It was a plantation in Civil War days, with slaves. When my grandfather bought it he had sharecroppers.
Maybe I’ll write about that sometimes.

We know the numerator is greater than zero since life formed on this planet.

Thats not definitionally true and a presupposition but would send us down a rabbit hole that would kill this conversation.

The Barney and Betty Hill story is fascinating to me. She drew a map of what is now known as Zeta Reticuli years before it was discovered. Explain that.
