Personally, you want to protect your income. 32 years…you’re about to see the most evil being in existence.

Don’t listen to any of this advice.

If you are in New Orleans, and your kids are grown, go rent a studio apartment in the quarter and go get drunk a few times a week, listen to music and bring back strippers/hookers.

Just beware of that black one that killed the reporter.

Would it be weird if I opened a very basic Facebook account for the sole purpose of looking for a roommate on Marketplace?

Nost facebook people are absolutely ate up with social media syndrome. They would be suspect of anyone without facebook or a basic account. They would think you are a criminal or something.

If you know someone who has facebook just have them scroll through it and give you the contact info of people looking for room mates.

That said I agree you are better off by yourself. I'd rather live by myself in a cheaper place than deal with a room mate. I've been married 24 years now. We hit a rough patch for a while like you describe...we were pretty much just room mates for 2 years. I left and stayed in a camper at a park for a while and it was pretty dang peaceful. We ended up starting over slowly and got back together. Things have been better than they ever were before.

Sorry your having a hard time, 32 years is a long time brother. Hope whatever you do it works out for you

Buy a sailboat or an investment property somewhere fun that needs improvement. Stay there indefinitely while you DIY.

You may not plan to, but that's what will happen if you move out.

You got to be more specific. What exactly does your wife do to you?

Why do people make such comments? Posters might take it at face value and have a horrible experience.

Go watch aging cover bands or dudes doing acoustic sets at daiquiri shops and Mexican restaurants. Those guys are always getting divorced and don’t have enough money to make it on their own.

Or give up the bussy and get you a young man that needs a DILF.

But for real, sorry you’re going through this.

Yes. I absolutely hate having roommates.
