Have you thought about getting your concealed carry so you won't be worried all the time?

Anxiety / panic attacks are a mental thought process gone astray. You need to train your brain to instead be calm and relaxed. You need to train your brain to stop the negative thoughts and either haven calming, soothing thoughts, or no thoughts at all.
Hypnosis by a trained psychologist can do just this. Repeated sessions will have you walking out after each session feeling totally relaxed. Record some sessions and you can replay them if you feel anxious or panicky in the future.
After several sessions (6 to 12), you will have conquered this negative thought process. After six years I am still calm and relaxed, and sleep like a baby. I highly recommend trying this.

Is this the first time you've been to see someone about it?
No but I haven't addressed it in.... 8 years? Been managing and grinding through it.
Got diagnosed with major clinical depression and generalized anxiety disorder, at the same time.
Fun stuff.

Do you guys do this through a psych or just general practitioner?

I went to an actual shrink. Took almost 2 months to get in but was worth it.

What did the Doc say? I'm trying to get a Dr. to help but having a hard time and really starting to struggle.

What did the Doc say?
The appointment was over an hour where I answered some very specific questions about my state of mind, how I handle things in my life, and my life story / upbringing.
From those answers he was able to deduce what I already knew: I am severely fricking depressed, all the time. And that I have general, constant anxiety about everything.
The biggest thing is being honest with your answers. The only person in the world that has no reason to judge you is the doctor you are seeing.
The challenges in finding a doctor without a reference are real. It took me 2 weeks of calling a few places per day but I got an appointment and so far, it appears to be the best thing I have ever done.
I got a 30 day supply of Xanax to use at night until the antidepressants kick in.
I have not had a night of sleep where I did not wake up at least 4-5 times in over 10 years. Last 2 nights? Slept like a baby

I was having some of the same issues. Mad about everything, even little shite pissed me off.
Took a promotion and shite got bad, new job is stressful as hell. That just compounded on top of everything else.
Wife was on my arse about my attitude, I was flying off the handle at my kid....just a lot of shite that I wasn't use to doing.
I am not a medicine fixes everything kinda guy at all. Finally went and talked to my Doc about it all and he put me on 10mg of Lexapro, and dude its a night and day difference according to my wife. Friday I go back for my month follow up and questions.
Do it the right way bro, this shite is real.

I'm going to the Dr. today to see if he thinks it's just re-adjusting to the meds.
Did you have trouble the first couple of weeks when you started Lexapro?
Last time this happened to me it got way worse for a few days before getting better. Praying the same thing will happen this time.

What did they put you on if you don't mind asking? Have you felt any better during the day yet?

Cymbalta. I won't know if it is really doing anything for at least a few weeks.

You need to taper off under your doctor's direction. You can't screw with that stuff it will f you up big time.

I'm on the same thing and went for my one month follow up last week...he put me on it for another six months. We both agreed that there was no need to increase the dosage.

I know when I first started, the very first day was horrible. I took it and left for work later on....must've kicked in at that point because all of a sudden I thought I was losing it and passing out (while driving). Somehow, I managed to make it back home and let my workplace know I wasn't coming in.
I'd advise to take it on a weekend or something when you know you're not leaving the house....just incase something like that happens.
