Many people have offered good advice. I have been on, off and back on the meds.

I was on them the first time for probably a little less than a year, got completely off them, anxiety came ROARING back. I tried to fight it off by getting addicted to exercise, but eventually had to get back on.

Haven't been off since, been probably over a year now, can't remember. I advise staying on them. At least until you feel stable again. And then, go to your doctor, talk through how you have been doing, and tell him you'd like to try and get off. HE will advise a taper plan. Having said that, I might advise tapering even SLOWER than he suggests. Typically they will half your mg's every week or two.

I say if you're on like 40 mg of something, go down to 30 for a month. Then 20 for month. Then 10 for a month, til you're finally taking nothing.

the fact that none of those things can treat clinical depression or extreme anxiety. Most people that suffer from these things don't want to rely on medicine, I was one of them. I did everything I could for a long time before I finally had to face the facts that I did not have to suffer, just because my pride was in the way.

again, please educate yourself before speaking on a subject you're ignorant to. Especially one as vital and important as mental health.

People struggle every day with it and do not need to be told what to do by those who have no knowledge of it.

I'm no doctor, but I have had an experience similar to yours, and I feel like tapering off and going back on would have a negative effect (like the one you're experiencing). I'd highly recommend going to see a doctor.

and to answer your question, yes. Any time you adjust your meds you're going to experience the negative side effects. It's just part of it.

Start taking it every day again, you might feel bad for a few weeks but you'll get back to normal again.

What the frick is your problem? You need some meds for your anger management.

You completely misinterpreted what I originally posted. I only edited because I thought I was being unfair to you.

But frick that now. I called you an attention whore and a woman like love of hysterics. I was absolutely accurate in that assessment by the way.

No I did not. You asked how are those things BS, to which I replied. Then you went off on some tangent how you are not ignorant to the subject, while actually proving that you are.

Mental health should be the most important subject in our lives, yet the ignorance surrounding it is second to none. You need to educate yourself for the sake of those around you.

Sorry RandySavage, did not want to derail your thread. But I always feel the need to try and help others get educated on this subject.

You can do it, keep fighting the good fight.

You think those things are BS in and of themselves? That’s idiotic.

Please quote what I have said about mental health. You’re proving to be extremely sensitive here.

Honestly, you should look into the things that you call BS. And meds for your anger management too. I can’t help you with your shitty reading comprehension. You may just be a fricking idiot.

A large portion of anti-depressants work on the cumulative affect.

no, and if you would stop intentionally missing the point you would see that. Exercise, eating right, leading a good life, all these things and more help with mental health issues. What the original guy said was to do these things and forgot about some pill. That is the problem. I'm done talking with you. But, read more.

I have been on the downward spiral for over a year now, and I have been managing the previous 6-7 years with no meds.

Actually going to the shrink today to get this shite fixed before my kids hate me and my wife leaves me.

Good luck. Mental health is a long, often lonely road for those of us who struggle.

Is this the first time you've been to see someone about it?

Good luck man, it's a wonderful thing when you start to feel yourself again.

Hoping I'll be back there soon myself.

You are not alone my friend. The fact that you are doing something about it tells me all I need to know about you. You will get back to where you want to be, and your kids and wife will understand. If you haven't already, have an honest convo with your wife about what you struggle with and how it affects you daily.

ShoeBang, I dealt with it for probably 8 years but the last 6 months or so just got really hard to deal with....which is why I decided to talk to the Dr and open up about my problems. It was at that moment I realized just how many people deal with it.

It's great to start enjoying life again.
