I’m two hours south of Chicago and the wind is blowing hard. We’re under a winter weather advisory and expect 2-4 with blizzard conditions.

IL is going to get nailed by this system. 993 MB pressure is a pretty serious winter storm. NE KS/ NW MO had nearly 60 mph gusts from this system earlier today. It doesn't take very much snow with those winds to cause serious problems. Good luck!

I’m about an hour west of the city and we are getting nailed. Winds of at least 45 mph and absolutely white out conditions. I’d guess about 6 inches so far. Plows have been pulled off the roads here as well.

Well done.

Is it cold enough?

Needs to be 20 or less.
4" on ground and a gale.

Did we find her belly button yet tho?

And blizzards are pretty over rated ... I remember back in ‘97 when it wasn’t blizzarding ... those were good days.

it was actually to warm to really do much but some places near by got slammed with over 11 inches. We got maybe 3-4. The main issue was the ground temperature was too warm.

The wind did cause havoc. I slept with the windows open because I like to curl up under a bunch of blankets and be warm, and I heard branches and trees snapping all night. It was definitely gusting well over 50 miles per hour

It all mostly hit last night and the city didn't get it bad. North burbs got it a lot worse.

You are looking live...

2 hours south of Chicago? What town/city are you in? There is nothing down there (from a city standpoint)

I wasn’t two hours south. That was another poster. I’m a few miles north of the loop.
