How hard is it to get into U-High elementary program? I have a 2nd grader and kindergartener at St. George. We're not Catholic though, although we believe in Jesus and regularly go to Healing Place Church. I'm finding it increasingly difficult to navigate the Catholic faith questions from my children. A couple months ago my daughter said if she didn't go to confession for first reconciliation, then God would never forgive her sins. It's pretty frustrating to be honest. I can only imagine their confusion.

On the other hand, St. George is a pretty good school and my kids are doing very well academically. I wouldn't ever pull them out to send them to a lesser quality institution. I've heard U-High is a very good school all around, but I've also heard it's tough to get accepted there.

Anyone have any experience or knowledge about U-High admissions?

Thanks.

Oh and:

If you don’t know the name of the school, it’s incredibly difficult to get admitted.

You Protestants sicken me. To deny the true church is apostasy. Eternal hellfire awaits. Not to mention you can’t drink booze.

Just kidding. UHigh is very tough to get into. I had Gordon make a call for my little Bryndon. Brunson and Brighton got in easily after that. Also kidding. You won’t get your kids in. Not kidding.

So, you want the Catholics to educate your children but you don’t agree with their religion? Didn’t you agree to support the school both financially and philosophically when you signed the application papers?

ETA: I am just trolling you, baw! BTW, I hear that Wayfair Middle May have some openings.

What’s your TAF number and does your kid run fast with a football?

Wait till she learns about evolution, which the Catholic Church supports.

He's really going to be in trouble.

Checking in. I was the only kid in my circle of friends growing up that wasn't Catholic. I did eat burgers in front of them during Lent whenever I could though.

No, not exactly. We certainly agreed to pay the tuition. But, we've been upfront that we're non-Catholics. My kids go to mass and religion class, but they don't take part in communion or other Catholic stuff. If I had a problem with the school pushing Catholicism onto my kids, I'd raise hell about it with them and/or check them out when it came time for mass. I'm not mad at the school for it, just second guessing us putting our kids in a confusing situation.

I don't believe that you can only talk to God through some priest, or that a priest/father/pastor/deacon/whatever has any authority to forgive your sins.

I wish people in both Catholic faith and Protestant faith would stop pretending they know what God thinks in His head.

As far as U High, write a check or promise them your son will end up 7 foot 1 or your daughter can already run a 30 second 200 meters.

Or...call Gordon. Get it done.

Baptists are certainly more aligned to our beliefs, but Parkview also likes money more than the Catholics lol. It's just plain more expensive to send kids to Parkview than St. George.

Admitting your kids into a Catholic school when you’re not Catholic is your first mistake. Conflict is inevitable. As for University Lab school, good luck.

Focus on the academics end of it. St. George is a pretty decent school and is big. U High is good also. Religion clouds it too often.
