Answer it and let them know. Your work wont care. If theyre so uptight that you think they would, give whoever that is a heads up that you are not in fact giving your work number to your buddies for bail outs.

It's from prison - isn't that a given?

Nope.
Prisons have accounts of the inmate that pay the charges.

Collect maybe from central lockup or the parish prison.

Super Saint can probably add the voice of experience here.

Maybe it's a friend of your kid in Orange Beach that got a MIP under the new ordinance.

If it's on your cell phone and the first time you accept the call, the "collect" part of the call wont work right and it will give him a "free" call that will last about 30 seconds. At least tell the dude he has the wrong number so he isn't sitting there trying to get bonded out or something and thinking no one gives a shite about him.

I mean, I think that's how it may work.

How difficult is it to answer the call and advise he's called the wrong number? If you're scared, don't answer at all. Did you need the OT for this, really?

Do the nice thing first Tell him he's got the wrong number or it might continue because he doesn't know he has a wrong number. Block it after you tell him if he calls back again. Then it means he's up to no good

for me, I get wrong numbers all the time

leaving messages in spanish

or telling me my credit is ok, but I'm eligible for an upgrade and I don't have a credit card!!!

99% of the time, I don't answer

there's no point in it

but in your case, it won't hurt to say, you got the wrong number, unless of course it's a scam to make money....

Answer him and give him "legal" advice on things he can do in jail with no repercussions... Then wait for more calls, dispense more advice, etc....

You are helpless so you should meet up with him and have him kill you.

If you know the inmate's name, call the prison and tell them what's going on.

Or you could just let him know he has the wrong number like any other functional human would.
