They also have jetted underwater "benches" that would probably serve the same purpose.
I'd go with this but it really depends on your family and what suits you best.

We're also thinking of a small decorative waterfall at one end. Anyone had experiences with either of these?
Yeah, I had two in a previous house with a pool. Don't run them all of the time as it will raise your pH over time and that's one of most important things to keep correct in your pool.

Without a doubt go with a salt water pool. Will save you thousands of dollars a year and overall is a way better experience.

$3500 for a jetted whirlpool that spills into your pool??? Dman. I got ripped off. That is a great price.

Not only thousands of dollars, but thousands of dollars a year???
You dont own a pool do you.
And how is it a greater "experience"? I personally hate swimmi g in the salt water but personal preference.

Yeah. I got another quote for the whirlpool at $5K so I too thought that was a good deal.

I had traditional chlorine in-line 3" tabs at my last house and I built a salt water pool at my current house. I definitely prefer salt water. You can't tell it is salt water when you are in it and it is MUCH easier to maintain (so far).

That's because it is not salt water like you are thinking it is.

how? I am generously curious about this. I have had the 3" inline for 5 years now and I am struggling to figure out how the chlorination of the pool is in any way a "maintenance" issue.

Then what is it?
It's a salt water chlorine generator that you installed. It uses electrolysis to create chlorine for your pool. There will be an extremely small level of salt that gets into your pool, but make no mistake sir, you have a chlorinated pool.

also, you can absolutely tell when you are in a salt water pool.

Yes sir. I completely understand the concept behind this idea. I thought you were saying that I really didn't have a salt water/chlorinator. I wasn't sure what you were implying.

Maintenance of a properly designed and functioning salt water pool:
Step 1 - Occasionally add Salt.
