The MG42 partially inspired the design of the M60 machine gun. The M60 is a lot of fun on the range, till it jams or you have a runaway gun.

Look at the MG3 that is still in use by some nato nations. It's a carbon copy of the 42 only lowered the cyclic r.o.f.
