Why allow them to drive?
The whole concept of driver's licenses seems questionable to me, since people need to be able to travel and freely associate But restricting that right to people of a truly adult age seems smart to me. That's not constitutional law, it's fricking parenting.

When i was in basic training we were at the range shooting prone. The ADULT next to me got up and there was a wet stain under him because he had pissed himself due to shooting an M-16. People need to learn that people are people. You cant always control human behavior and emotion. We are a chaotic being. Some people could have all the training and helicopter parents but in the end they have their own mind that no one understands including themselves. Locking people up due to someones else actions is a terrible policy as a free society. Its how you become less free.

Honestly, charging parents in these kinds of circumstances needs to happen more often.

For every Colt there’s several other kids who are likely on the brink of doing something like this and their parents just don’t give a frick.

Giving a kid a gun that you feel is responsible is fine, giving one that had suspicions of being mentally ill isn’t.

Sure. Bold concept. Parenting is a skill set of individualizing rules and guidelines based upon how you deem necessary based upon the best knowledge one has of their kids. It’s not about universal generalizations deemed a must on a message board.

What if a dad gives a gun to a 6 year old and he kills someone? How about a 9 year old? 12 year old? It’s all the kids fault, right, because it was his actions, not the father’s that caused the death, correct?

Why are we allowing children to choose genital mutilations?

Anyone of any age who thinks that altering their genitals is a good idea needs to be under close medical supervision at all times.

You’re willfully ignoring the neglect that did occur in these circumstances where parents have been charged. This isn’t just some kid who happened to live in a home with guns that weren’t locked up. You’re not going to meet the threshold of a charge and conviction with that alone. This, much like the Michigan shooting/charges, is a case where a parent willfully neglected to protect others from their child.

And we’ve been holding parents responsible for how they treat their kids for a very long time. That’s not some new concept.

How about a 17 year old? You can join the military at 17. Can you hunt at 14? Yes. Dont be an idiot.

Because I think it’s time parents actually be held responsible for neglecting their child?

I bet you’re also someone who also thinks this world is going to shite because of parents who aren’t raising their kids to be healthy adults.

Hey bluebell, I have 2 kids under the age of 15 currently. They both have direct knowledge of where I have unlocked multiple loaded pistols in my home. Is this incorrect parenting?

I'm thinking dad saw his boy going down the trans / ghey road and saw guns as a way to make him more of a man. I get the thought process but once the FBI knocks on your door bc your kid threatened to shoot up a school.......he gets zero access to guns under my roof. Ever. Not sure you charge him with murder but accessory to murder makes sense.

You can hunt at 6 too. What’s your point? You never answered my question either. Just trying to understand your logic.

If you read my posts you’d know the answer to this.

But this is the last time I’m responding you since you can’t read or comprehend posts and just want to sensationalize. Enjoy.
