I would not usually correct someone who did this, but you did it twice, and seem to be the entitled a-hole type who rides my arse on the highway.

I knew it! I was going to guess Turner or Dooley County. Just live and learn my man. If you come through Ga again in the future, those 2 county Sheriffs Departments pull hundreds a day over on I-75. They sit in lines on entry ramps with a radar guy on the bridge. Went through a few months ago and saw the cop gunning on the bridge I was approaching and there were 9 cars pulled over in a 2 mile span after that. You are out of towner and maybe a local Ashland lawyer could get it reduced but only a local who knows folks. That was the absolute worst place to get a ticket as an out of Stater. They want every dime they can get from you and don't give a shite about your record, insurance, etc..

My wife is from Alcoa, TN and Blount Co did the same shite to me. I was doing 61 in a 45 where it went from 55 to 45 suddenly in a speed trap. Cop clocked me soon as I passed the 45 mph sign and quickly wrote me a ticket with nice smile. $250.

I pay a lawyer for EVERY ticket I get. I give him $100 up front and generally $100 after. I have a heavy arse foot and I've never had a ticket hit my insurance.

Also, I've never had a cop add on speed to my speeding. Three times (all by LSP - please don't stop this practice if you read this Maj.) I have had a trooper say "well you were doing well over 80, but I'm going to put 76 so i don't have to tack on reckless endangerment" Love the LSP, but then I still send the lawyer to fight it.

I just got a ticket for 21 over. I called the justice of the peace - this was a real small county in Texas - and asked what the fine was. It was high. I asked for an arraignment date to set a trial. I told them I have a dashcam with GPS speed displayed (not true) and that I would bring a DVD of it to court. They knocked it down to a non-moving violation.

The squeaky wheel (that's full of shite) gets the grease.

After your thread yesterday I think we all know you like to drive fast. I just didn't think you had a lawyer on retainer for your problem

If you have a lawyer that will do it for $200 then it is well worth it. But I doubt an out of state guy is going to find a local lawyer for $200

See there is a catch 22 here. The court date he was given was like an "arraignment" and the officer does not have to be present when you plead "guilty" or "not guilty". If you send a lawyer to this, they will skip this step and talk to the ADA or whoever sets the prosecution. They will make a plea and it's done.
If you go and plead "not guilty" or tell your lawyer you want to present your case before the judge, then they will give you a second court date and this time the officer will 100% be there because the officers are generally given days when they are expected to be in court and the clerk looks this up when scheduling your day back.
