This is truly sad. I've lived in Northern Virginia since moving down here in 1973. Christ Church always fascinated me. I've been there for weddings and I've been there simply as a tourist/visitor.
When I go to court in Alexandria I often just go over and walk through the grave yard to look at the markers from the early 1700s. The plaques inside the sanctuary that recognize that George Washington and Robert E. Lee worshiped there impress me.
The last time I was there was with a visitor from Boston. The docent brought us to the area where the Washington family sat when they attended services. She told us that the area is reserved and that the ushers offer the area to visiting people who they do not know and who are attending services at Christ Church for the fist time.
I cannot believe that we are trying to erase history. Just horrible.

I would say it’s a shame but at this point, America and it’s history is an enigma. I can’t predict it. I lived here and I loved it. Now the consensus wants to erase it’s history. I guess it’s theirs to erase. And I guess it’s time for me to go.

There’d be riots, literally riots, if a single MLK monument was removed or MLK street renamed. But he’ll deny that here since it’d never happen anyway. Only white history is fair game and it’s largely self hating white liberals leading the charge.
I just wish they could’ve all been born 60 years ago so they could’ve protested something meaningful. Now they’re rebels without causes and it’s driving the rest of us nuts. Why don’t they go to Saudi Arabia and fight for the women there?

Now as the slippery slope that everyone with a brain knew would happen, has indeed happened, the tune has changed to:
"Lol, why do y'all even honor men of history, it's so dumb."
Then if it got to the point where we tore down the White House, it'd evolve into:
"LOL, why do y'all even care about historical buildings? They're old and don't mean anything."
