Gentlemen of the OT: Seeking Advice on a Classic Analog Watch

Bros, I'm in the market for a simple yet classic analog watch for everyday use. Prince isn't important, save the fact I'm not spending more than $500.
Practicality is essential, so I don't want anything larger than 42mm.
The plan is to throw a NATO band on, so I'm only interested in the watch itself.
I ordered a Hamilton Khaki mechanical last month, but it was stolen in the mails before it arrived. I took this as a sign from above, and thought it a good idea to seek counsel from the gentleman of the OT.
Here are a couple I've taken note of:
Lago 1925 Type A
Lago 1925 Type 86

Type A has my vote.
Type 86 is trying too hard.

If you want a watch like that then you don't care to actually have a watch. Look at your phone and stop bothering us. shite.

You cannot go wrong with a Laco or for that matter a flieger type A or B.
My personal preference is towards the B which is my everyday watch.

I like them. Reminds me of an old Swiss Army my dad had. I'll need to stop at Walmart and see if they carry them. I like that blue strap.

I used to wear my Bathys Hawaii Benthi Ti on a NATO tan Zulu with bronze hardware.
