It’s just a basic 5500. Checked the breakers and they seemed fine. What else could cause this? I know next to nothing about electrical shite. TIA.

Then is it really running? I mean really

The encabulator may be wonky.

check the feed for the breaker with a volt meter.

I bet you need to plug it in.

Well then you better go catch it.

This has happened to me before. After opening it up, I saw it had a blown capacitor. It was an older generator so it was a bitch finding a replacement.

Possibly the voltage regulator.

Replace the Flux Capacitor and put in a new set of Tangent Points

Could be a lot of things. The stator could be bad but that's least likely. More likely to be a regulator or breaker issue.

Have you tried turning it off and turning it back on again?

Depending on how old it is and how long ago it was used, it might need to be polarized again.

You need to "re-energize" it.. This actually works..

If it is running you may want to run yourself to go and catch it.
That could be why it is not generating power, it left you for the house next door.

I'm sure it's trying its best

I am an electrician. I have seen this a few hundred times. you generator is not bad. Most likely it is the brushes on the exciter. They have cheep springs that push the brushes to the amarture. PULL THE BACK OFF THE GENERATOR TO GET TO THE BRUSHES AND STRETCH THE SPRINGS A LITTLE AND PLACE BACK IN THE HOUSING MAKE SURE THE BRUSHES ARE TOUCHING THE ARMATURE (MAGNET SIDE) YOU MAY WANT TO SCRATCH THE BRUSHES WITH A FINE SANDPAPER. THIS SHOULD FIX YOUR ISSUE!

Check the flux capacitor
