I am an early Gen X'er born in 67. I was forced into disability retirement a couple of months ago and all of my retirement dreams went up in smoke. I am now just going to treatments and occasionally when I feel ok I try and go fishing or work in my garden. Most of the time though, I just lie around doing nothing. weed edibles are not what they are cracked up to be though. I take some Rick Simpson Oil to help with side effects like pain, nausea, and lack of appetite, etc. It works but, like someone said above it's inconsistent in its effects. One day a dose gets me pretty high feeling and the next day the same dose does little for me. I usually just take more when it seems to not be working. LOL

You called it "trashy" so you already know. I'm your age and will purchase a home in the mountains whether Blue Ridge or Rockies and learn to fly fish. Do some boating and possible rafting. Travel here and there as well. No drugs save for alcohol.

no need to feel bad dude, I have accepted my illness and just try to do the best I can each day. I am liking retirement but I have to get used to it. LOL
I am hoping that I get to feeling better soon and can do more of the things I want. When I was first diagnosed in 2016, my wife and I decided to sell our RV because I just couldn't see using it that much. It was a good decision but I have regretted not having my RV a number of times since I sold.

Target retirement is 62, but I don't know if I will want to retire. Probably travel.

Agreed. I played them as a kid, teenager and a little with my kid when she was 7-8, but otherwise no interest. Definitely not in retirement. I have no interest in tripping on shrooms again either.

I did way more than experiment with drugs. I like being in control now. A mild buzz is about all I'm interested in anymore.

Wife and I are both 45. We would like to buy a travel trailer and spend six months of the year traveling throughout the US and camping. So many places to see in this country and Canada :)

My wife has been on me to buy a camper for years. We already own a truck big enough to pull a small one for the 3 of us. I think she's 7-8 years too early. With a kid in in the 7th grade, I'm afraid we wouldn't use it enough to justify the cost.

Technically im a boomer born in 64 ( last boomer year) but my wife is an Xer so i will chine in, ive always been tied down by my job so vacations were always short so in a couple of years we’re buying a fifth wheel, selling the house and going mobile. Winters in south Fla near my daughter, football season in Auburn and the rest of the time touring the states, i cant wait.

I honestly don’t know.

I have seen 2 men that I’m family with in retirement and they honestly seem bored and don’t do much.

That is something i don’t want to happen
