complain to your legislators to get a bill passed to help attack the problem. they just threw out two of them that would have started some action against trial attorneys. Louisiana politics at work.

From a trusted friend retired from over 35 years in the insurance industry.
He said no matter the premiums the only two insurance companies to consider for auto and home are State Farm and USAA. With USAA you need a military connection.
For life insurance Northwestern Mutual.
Medical of course is now a complete cluster f...k.
You will find lower premiums but you get what you pay for. I have my cars on USAA and my premiums are much lower than Geico. Have my home on State Farm. Been with both for years and not one single complaint.

their customer service would keep me with them even if they were higher. thankfully that's not the case.

Same for me. I'd pay a little more with Geico b/c of their customer service. Fortunately i pay less and still get the great customer service.

GEICO helped Berkshire Hathaway make $934 million in the second quarter
quote:

Underwriting profit of $943 million from the insurers in the second quarter compared with a loss of $22 million in the same period a year earlier. Profit at Geico was more than five times earnings during the same period last year, helped by higher rates. Many insurers have been increasing prices after experiencing higher losses, partly due to more drivers on the roads. Berkshire Hathaway Reinsurance Group benefited from a lack of catastrophes in the quarter

The company itself is worth just over $15.7 billion.

I have found National General to be cheaper by a noticeable amount.

I switched from State farm to Geico about 8 years ago.

Haven't looked back either!

I have Geico and my insurance has gone up about 40% as well with no claims. You can thank all the slimy billboard attorneys and State legislators for that.

I have Geico but at one point looked at reducing my bill by reducing some coverages and dropped it about $20. Well a month or two at the most later, they raise my rate up $20, for some bullshite reason that they couldn't explain. They are still cheaper but what a bunch of crooks.

20 years using them. Always cheaper when I check rates.

Only 1 claim during Katrina and they had a rep onsite writing checks.

With only 1 claim I can't give much feedback on a normal accident situation.

Anyone have any problems with GEICO?

I had them in BR. Had a not-at fault accident and everything went very smooth. They called me before one of the hurricanes and the woman on the line said, “I know you only have us for vehicle insurance, but if you need anything at all please don’t hesitate to reach out in the bad weather”. That REALLY stuck with me in a positive way.

Moved to Memphis and with our house over 125 years old no one could insure it without bundling cars. Geico doesn’t do homeowners (at least not in our zip) I’d have them again in a heartbeat.

Well Crap! I've been with Geico for about 5 years. Yesterday I was thinking I need to go get some more quotes because I thought our premiums were high. I guess I need to stay where we are.

Switched to Geico several years ago after being with State Farm for years. Cut my monthly cost in HALF! We went from paying nearly a thousand to less than five hundred. It has gone up the last few years, but I mostly attributed that to my kids and adding another one last year.

They have been great to work with. After the flood, I had three vehicles that were under water. The adjuster came out to the house within about three days, and cut me checks on the spot for way more than I thought the value would be! I signed the release as fast as I could!

frick State Farm dude; they have the worst customer service of any of the companies and guaranteed a min of $100 a month more than anyone. I couldn’t recommend a company less.

I've had Geico for years. Price has never gone up except when I got in one wreck and they shelled out a ton of money on the claims against me and the only upped my monthly by $25.

Been have safeco for years with no complaints, but I just ran a quote with progressive and it cut my total in half. I'm switching over as soon as my coverage ends this month
why wait? Safeco would have to refund you what you didn’t use

So just because insurance companies are making money means it’s ok that lousiana pays more than everyone else? You can go get fricked with that argument

For me, switched to GEICO and received big savings. Rates crept up the next year. Then, not at fault accident, and the other driver had no insurance. They jacked my rates because they had to pay PD to fix my car, minus deductible.

Word on the street, GEICO quotes low early, with the intent to increase rates and hope you don't take the time to switch.

In Louisiana Geico uses mostly in house counsel. So when an injury claim is filed against them, they give BS offers to settle and make you sue them. They do this because they pay their lawyers the same thing regardless. They are not being billed by the hour. So, in short if you are in a wreck with injuries that are your fault and you have Geico your chances of getting sued greatly increase. Could work out great for you or terrible for you. Allstate is the same way.
