Having archsupports in my shoes really did help me. Also make sure not to overtrain, just cause it feels like you could go another 2miles or squeeze in an extra day of running a week it doesn't mean your feet are ready.

Also doc, what do you think about peroneal tendinitis? Everything I find online is it's rather uncommon. It showed up when I was training for a half marathon a few years ago. Cut training short and sure enough during the race at about 7 miles it flared up and was sore for weeks. And last year I tried running again and eventually after a couple of months it flared up this time it flares up around 1 mile.

I play tennis 4-5 days a week and am being very, very careful to avoid this issue. I’ve had so,e pain & inflammation but managed to nip it in the bud quickly.

I do wear open-toed compression socks around the house and find those help a lot. I also stretch and ice my arches after play and a couple times during the day. My partner had PF surgery on both feet last summer and she’s still recovering.

Honestly, if you are already doing all the other things then I doubt you will see any benefit from the compression socks. Have you had an MRI? That typically my next step once everything you listed has been exhausted.

Though it really is rare to have to do surgery, unfortunately for some folks it is necessary.

Thanks for the reply, glad I asked before making a purchase. I’ll request an MRI before I do any type of surgery

I figured I could educate some folks and maybe save y'all a few bucks and a trip to the doctor...

If I was having foot trouble I would probably just go to a podiatrist, not a doctor.

Question for you Geauxt.

I have incredibly flat feet, to the point I can clap them like one would with their hands.

When placed sole to sole, there is less than a 1/4 inch of space where the plantar regions meet.

Shoes with high/supportive arches KILL my feet. Shoes of that nature can actually cause plantar fasciitis if I walk in them for too long.

I feel like my feet are weird, are my feet weird?
