They obviously weren't content at living love is love... they were challenging the culture and promoting deviancy.
Do you think our own activists were always so bold? No, of course they weren't. We, as a society, let them get away with more and more... now we have public orgies, drag queen story time, a whole as month devoted to debauchery and can't agree if lady dicks belong in the women's room.
