In my day it was called KEEP (Keeping Education Exciting and Productive) and I am 100% convinced it was some sort of big government information gathering operation.

Lol well my KEEP brother I hate to tell you that KEEP was an LSU professor’s money teat. The information went nowhere but her garbage can. She was hanging on well into the 2000’s with her federal grant.

Now, a bunch of us went to Tulane Primate Center to study computers but that never went anywhere.

In the late 70’s I was in a gifted and talented program in Louisiana called SPARK. Can’t remember what it stood for. They would take me and one other kid in 1st grade to a different school twice a week to have class with other smart kids. I meet none of the criteria in the OP except the IQ one.

I was in that for a bit back in the 80s. All it involved then though was missing recess to do extra work though, so I put a stop to it real quick.

Very strange. Ive got all those except the drowning. Never heard the term occipital bun but i do have a huge head.

In my schools it was called ACE program. They took us to another school once a week and we did special projects. I used to ball out against those nerds in basketball.

Looking back at that group, everyone used drugs in college except one kid who became a doctor. Good for you, Ryan.

Our gifted program was called WINGS (Win for Gifted Students). We just got to research whatever we wanted one day a week in our own class then at the end of the semester, we’d present to all of our grade-level classes

Had two of the criteria (IQ, eyes),was in program from 1st through 10th grade. Members of the program were separated from the rest of the student body entirely until 7th grade, at which point there was integration in classes like gym and shop class. Terrible experience as you were considered a pariah due to the separation from “normal” kids until you were 12. Once I had some control of my schedule in high school I moved myself away from it.
