Kind of like when you exchange propane bottles at the store?

Yeah but way more complicated. It’s a novel idea but the only way it’s going to happen is if the feds standardize a battery pack system, which seems implausible. And before you get into how you even do this legally(subscription, lease, own), you need to develop a modular system that can fit everything from a smart car size to a 1/2 ton truck. Which means you’re probably developing 25ish kWh units and you stack them for bigger needs. But there still a million issues to work through with it and I really doubt any of use ever see that hit the market in the US.

And he doesn’t have to get an oil change after the road trip, too.

Huh?

I get an oil change once a year. Last one was $86 at the dealer.

I’m not changing my oil after driving only 900 miles. That’s crazy.

For most trips an ev is very easy to do. Maybe not pulling something but it makes sense after you do it

Hasn't Elon already stated that hydrogen powered vehicles are the future and electric was only the first stepping stone?

I have nothing against EVs and hope to see the technology improve. But until they produce a full sized truck that can go 450+ miles, stop for five minutes, and then be ready to go another 450, I’m not interested in
