This, I would let him take care of his mistake WELL before I tried to talk to his boss. If he didn't offer to take care of it then I would go to his boss. I do doubt he is expecting it to be a $239 mailbox that the owner wants today, even if said owner has no idea of availability of local stock and supply of said mailboxes.

Contact HOA get name of contractor they recommend to install a new one. Get an estimate or two. Tell the driver he needs to pay you the cost of replacement.
Do not let him "fix" the mailbox by welding it. Those mailboxes are shite and will never be the same even if he is a master welder.
If he doesn't pay in 30 days call His employer. A prudent person would take notes and document the events and communications

Just got a knock on my door and three guys are out here to fix it. I'm a happy camper now.
And I don't care to go through the headache of getting a brand new mailbox. As long as it's upright and accessible I'm fine with it

technically, garbage company committed a felony by tampering with US Postal property, you may have bought it and installed it but they own it...

You can see where they spray painted black at the base of the box closest to pole and also where the little curl is at the bottom. Looks just as it did before so I'm satisfied.
Oh and I was home bc I work shift work baw
