Garbage truck broke my mailbox EDIT: Crew sent out to fix it

I'm sitting at home watching TV and hear a loud bang. I look out my door and see my mailbox on the ground broken off of the pole. I look to my right and see the Dale's garbage truck. I hop in my truck and chase him down and tell him what happened. He's like huh? I don't think I did that. I tell him I saw it and so he swings back around to my house. He gives me a personal card and says he's gonna get someone out here to weld it back.
All the mailboxes in my neighborhood are the same. I guess part of the HOA. It's exactly like the one at this link:

I say so you're not going through Dale's to fix this? He says nah I did it so I'll take care of it personally.
What would you do? I told him I wanted it fixed today. I feel like I should call Dale's anyway and let them know what happened. Thoughts?

Ok I didn't see it but if I hear a big arse bang and see the mailbox on the ground and he's the only one in sight 3-4 seconds after it, it was him

This. Surprised there were no guns or Facebook live posts involved in this situation, but let the dude take responsibility for it then contact Dale's if he disappears.

That's cast aluminum, can't weld cast as easily as steel. Ole baw better know what he's doing or you'll have a giant pool of cast aluminum instead of pieces of a mailbox.

Did he break it in half or at the base or what? We have those same type boxes and it's probably not going to look too nice anymore, unless he welds, grinds and paints it back for you.
