I agree with you here and like I said in my post up top, if you can link me the rule that says I can’t or if Mr. Chicken stepped in here and said stop, I would.
I'm not sure if he ever codified it...but I'd hope my word on it, as someone that's been here quite a bit longer than you, would be enough.
Is it not?
If not, please feel free to roll over to the Help board and ask if I'm not to be believed.
I'd like to think others here who are aware of this would chime in though...
and again...I'd love nothing more than to be able to argue about this topic again. For years I begged for a religious board so that we could keep all of that stuff on it. This is NOT me NOT wanting to talk about religion. This is me not wanting to be reprimanded unilaterally over a rule Chicken put in place to avoid conflict over religious based arguments.

The guy simply posted a link to a Christian video. How in the world is that grandstanding?
Should I go and find an applicable atheist video and drop it at the top of the board and see if that is not called out?
C'mon...you're being obtuse.

TIGERDROPPINGS.COM TERMS OF SERVICE
THE TD.COMMANDMENTS
1. DO choose your user name carefully when you first register. Search the Member List to check for names that are similar to yours.
2. DO NOT “flame the board.” “Flaming” is the deliberate act of creating a post in order to incite members of the board and invoke a negative response.
3. DO NOT expect any tolerance for statements, opinions, or views that are bigoted, racist, sexist, or hateful. Further, linking to sites that contain such content is prohibited.
4. DO NOT engage in personal attacks on other users. Healthy debate is expected and encouraged, but take the childish insults elsewhere. This is particularly true with regard to visitors from other schools. Moderators will be especially watchful for verbal abuse, ridicule, ad hominem attacks, and stalking.
5. DO NOT engage in baseless criticism of LSU athletes, coaches, administrators or recruits. Legitimate evaluation of a player's performance or a coach’s ability is allowed, but personal attacks and insults are prohibited.
6. DO NOT post ANY adult or sexually explicit content OR links to adult or sexually explicit content.
7. DO NOT post images that contain the following:
Nudity or strategically covered nudity
Sheer or see-through clothing
Lewd or provocative poses
Sexually explicit acts
Close-ups of breasts, buttocks, or crotches
Also, threads that do contain acceptable babe images should have "NSFW" (Not Safe For Work) in the title.
Do not link to acceptable images that originate from porn sites or sites that contain adult content. We suggest you use an image hosting site to host your image before posting them here.
8. DO NOT use excessive profanity. Profanity is discouraged, and depending on the context in which it is used, might result in removal of your post.
9. DO choose a subject line that accurately describes the content of your post. Do not use deceptive subjects to attract attention to your post. Do not use one or two-word subjects that provide no description. And do not post in ALL CAPS.
10. DO NOT threaten another user with physical violence or retribution of any nature whatsoever.
11. DO take a minute to check for an existing thread on a topic of interest to you before starting a new thread.
12. DO not posting anything that could potentially harm (or embarrass) LSU or TigerDroppings.com.
13. DO NOT infringe upon the copyrights or other intellectual property rights of others.
14. DO NOT attempt to sell goods or services, or direct users to commercial sites, without prior authorization from board management.
Violations may subject the user to suspension or, in some cases, removal of the user’s account.
Nothing in the rules about it, they usually get removed because it leads to some of these rules being broken.

Wow...what is this, catechism or are you trying to your post count?
Don't come to the OT to preach, act all righteous and holier-than-thou, and expect folks to take you seriously, dude.
You must be fun at parties.

You accused this guy of grandstanding, he's not. Don't move the goalposts.

I understand. I’m not trying to say that you aren’t an honest person. I also really respect how you disagreed with me. I can tell that you are a truly good-hearted man/woman.

Ah, ok. If that’s the case then I will continue until the owner says otherwise. Thanks.

I honestly don’t think that was the intent. Not from reading the posts at least.

I’m not seeking some kind of social status. I don’t care about a post count.

And you expect your email discussion to be public knowledge and people should know not to start a thread like this?

Trust me...if this was 7 or so years ago, I'd be GLAD to engage, and roughly if you were up for it, over this topic. In fact, I just so happened to go back yesterday and see how far back my post history goes...and while doing so I found tons of threads on these types of subjects and I missed them.
But...these were taken away because a very small handful of faithful folks got bent out of shape by atheists daring to argue about their faith and they were offended. And just like you asked, they got offended by clicking on threads that they knew were almost certain to offended them.
I don;t own the board...and if Chicken has decided to allow them again, great! I'd be the first to enjoy posting in them again. However, I'd appreciate knowing is there is going to be a double standard in terms of policing them. Are nonbelievers going to be given time outs for taking part in these discussions unilaterally? If so, then while I'd disagree with that policy at least it would be out front and open for all to see and decide if they want to take part here or not.

He's also addressed it here before...though it's been years now and I don't believe for a second you don't know this. You've been around here long enough to have seen those threads and to have seen them disappear. Why'd that happen...people forgot to argue?

That's your religion. Christians believe that the only way to the Father is through His Son, Jesus Christ.

They got whacked, but because the debates got out of control and it wasn't just offended Christians. They usually got whacked 15-20 pages in.
Most people eventually just stayed away as not to drum up controversy.
