Any interesting places other then beach you would recommend to visit/explore that is within maybe 2 hour drive from Baton Rouge so can be done in 1 day? Something that teenagers might like? Thinking maybe State Parks, Plantations or NO Riverwalk/WW2 Museum?

if you do, Global Wildlife in Folsom, book the private truck. It is a way better experience.

Make it a day trip: call ahead to reserve boxed lunches from Slidell’s The Passionate Platter.

Rent some kayaks in the morning, then rent some bikes afterwards and ride down the trace towards Old Mandeville. Stop at a few places near the Mandeville Lakefront for beverages and maybe some food (Rips, McClains, Beach House, Old Rail Brewery)
