Having same problem. Tankless Heater on side of house. I rigged up a halogen flood light and shined it up close to pipes. They will thaw soon. Or you can use a hair dryer or a propane torch. Be careful with the torch.

All 3 of my toilets are frozen. Hope they don't burst, I can't do much since I'm guessing the pipes are frozen in the wall.

I recommend the propane torch. Just let natural selection take its course.

Serious idea. If you can get any water at all, heat it up on the stove and then soak a towel in it and use that to warm up the pipes. Might take a couple tries but it's way safer than using a torch.

this happened to me a couple weeks ago. I left the cold dripping and went to turn on the hot water and nothing would come out
i cranked up the a\c, open the cabinet doors under the sinks, and even lit the furnace in the bathroom for the first time ever in that house.
about 30 minutes later it started coming out... i left the hot water on even though nothing coming out

I used a thermal heating pad that I normally use on a sore back. Just wrapped it in a towel and put it over the pipe. Came back in 20 minutes and problem solved.

Which pipes? I have a slab house with no exposed outside pipe.

Tried warming the pipes with a blow dryer with no luck. Going to try again later today when it gets to 30 degrees

You sure? How do you turn your water off in case of emergencies?
Posted on 1/17/18 at 8:49 am to LSUZombie
Sorry. My water is run through the roof via PEX pipe. So had one close to an outside wall that needed some heat. Also used it on an outside faucet.

I mean I've never had to fortunately but it would be the main shut off valve or the water meter. I went in the attic and didn't really see anything out of the ordinary.

So you have no water any place in your home?
You have city water or well?
You know exactly where the water comes in to your home and you can turn the valve on and off at that spot? Mine comes in to my home below ground as well but there is an access port in the ground next to the slab with a valve in there. My last home was a slab also but the pipe came out of the ground just an inch or two before going in to the slab. Valve there used to freeze.

Shut off valve is located by the water heater in the attic I went in the attic and looked at all my pipes that I could see. No frost or bulging pipes from my perception.

Same happened to me. I opened the cold water clean out/flush valve under the water heater and nothing came out. So I ran my garden hose to the water heater and sprayed down the pipes. Took about 2-3 minutes then it starting coming out the clean out valve. Closed that one the opened the hot water flush valve, again nothing came out. Repeated with garden hose. Hot water started coming out of flush valve.
Let t it run for a minute and is now all good.
